BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey fell at Buffalo State College 7-1 on Saturday afternoon in Eastern College Hockey Conference (ECAC) West action.
Buffalo State came out firing in the first period and scored three goals on 18 shots. As the second period was winding down, the Bengals scored twice in the final 1:08 to take a 5-0 lead after two periods. Buffalo State added two more goals in the third period.
The Knights got on the board at the 15:32 mark of the third period as
Bek Lucas found the back of the net.
Sammy Patrick had the assist. Neumann outshot Buffalo State 17-15 in the final period.
Julia Fair started in net and made 32 saves.
Helen Cooney played the third period and made 13 saves.
Neumann (6-12-3, 2-9-3 ECAC West) will head home of the final home series of the season next weekend. The Knights will host Utica at 7:00 PM on Friday and 2:00 PM on Saturday in ECAC West action.
