Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Women's Lacrosse Outpaced by Pride

CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team continued its difficult season opening five game stretch of non-conference road games with a 15-5 loss to Widener University on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon.

Kaitlyn Conrad carried the offense on the afternoon, registering three goals in the loss. Diana Caicedo and Brittany Cassidy also scored for Neumann on the day, while Gabby Curry made six saves in net.

The Knights started strongly, controlling the game's opening ten minutes and jumping to an early 1-0 lead with a Conrad goal just three minutes into play. Unfortunately for Neumann, it would be the team's last lead of the game. Widener responded with seven of the remaining eight goals in the first frame to take an 8-2 lead into halftime.

The Pride would continue to take the play to the Knights in the second stanza. Conrad, Caicedo and Cassidy all scored for Neumann in the final thirty minutes of play, but Widener would score seven more times to pull away with the 15-5 win.

Neumann (0-4) returns to the field for its fifth and final road game to open the season when it heads to Stockton University on Tuesday, March 14th at 4:00 PM. The Knights finally return to Aston for their home and conference opener on Saturday, March 18th when they take on Immaculata University at 11:00 AM.
