ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team collected its second win in as many days with a 13-5 non-conference victory over Rutgers University - Camden on Thursday afternoon.
The trio of
Diana Caicedo,
Kaitlyn Conrad and
Shae Risley continued their excellent play this week, each tallying three goals apiece.
Brittany Cassidy was also fantastic in the win, scooping up a team high 10 ground balls and adding a goal of her own.
Gabby Curry got the win in goal, making nine saves on the day.
The first half began with both teams trading goals. Caicedo got the scoring started with a tally at the 22:39 mark, but the Scarlet Raptors answered right back just 33 seconds later to tie the game back up. The game would remain tightly contested throughout the half with each team trading three goals apiece midway through the half to make it 4-4 with 8:40 to play in the period.
From there the Knights would take over the game. Neumann scored the final two goals of the first half and outscored the Scarlet Raptors by a count of 7-1 in the second half to coast to a comfortable 13-5 win. Caicedo, Conrad and Risley each found the back of the net twice in the final period of play and Neumann walked away with its second consecutive win this week.
Neumann (2-7, 1-1 CSAC) returns to the field seeking its third straight win when it faces off against conference rival Rosemont College on Saturday, April 1st. The game is scheduled to start at 11:00 AM.
