ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team made it three wins in a row with a convincing 15-1 victory over Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) rival Rosemont College on Saturday afternoon.
Neumann received balanced scoring throughout the lineup, as 11 different players scored in the win.
Diana Caicedo,
Kaitlyn Conrad,
Courtney Petrucelli and
Reilly Pollock all tallied twice for the Knights, while
Nicole Curry,
Taylor Klever, and
Shae Risley each had a goal and an assist.
Gabby Curry and
Becca Wallace split time in goal, combining for seven saves on the day.
The Knights were dominant from the opening whistle, scoring five goals in the game's opening ten minutes to grab a stranglehold of the game early. Caicedo notched the first and fifth goals of the day for Neumann, building her season total to 16 goals on the season. As the half moved on, the Knights continued to play in the Rosemont end, registering six more goals in the half to head to halftime up 11-0. Conrad, Pollock and Petrucelli each found the back of the net twice in the half to help extend the lead.
In the second half, Neumann picked up where it left off in the first frame. The Knights grabbed the first two goals of the half via
Cassidy Raysik and
Nicole Curry, and cruised the rest of the way. Rosemont was able to get a goal back with seven minutes left to play, but two more Neumann goals late in the game sealed the 15-1 win.
Neumann (3-7, 2-1 CSAC) is back in action on Wednesday, April 5th as it hosts Keystone College in CSAC action. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
