AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a 7-4 decision to Capital University on Friday afternoon.
Evan Emerich and
Kyle Weller each had a pair of hits.
James Angellella went 4.0 innings on the mound and took the loss. He allowed six runs, five earned, on eight hits.
Zach Youngberg pitched 4.0 innings in relief. He allowed one unearned run on two hits.
The Knights put two early runs on the board in the first inning as the first three batters reached base. The Crusaders plated a run in the first and second to tie the game. Emerich hit a solo homerun in the third to take a 3-2 lead.
Capital scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 6-3 advantage. Emerich scored an unearned run in the fifth inning on a single by Weller. The Crusaders capped the scoring in the seventh inning for the 7-4 final
Neumann (2-3) will wrap up spring break action tomorrow at 9:15 AM against Rhode Island College.
