GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team swept a pair of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matches on Monday evening. The Knights took both matches against Clarks Summit and Gwynedd Mercy 3-0.
In the first match against the Defenders, the Knights won the three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-9.
Melanie Malseed led the Knights with 15 kills and a .583 hitting percentage.
Carlee Herrin handed out 29 assists. The team tallied 10 service aces, led by
Hayley Glah with four.
Neumann took an early 8-3 lead in the first set and a 10-2 lead in the second set and third sets.
Against the Griffins, Neumann took the three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-15.
Bridget Lozier hit .583 and tallied nine kills to lead the Knights. Herrin dished out 23 assists. Malseed tallied five service aces as the teams notched 11.
Bianca Harbold added 14 digs to anchor the defense.
The Knights started the match with four straight points and jumped out to a 13-3 lead and never looked back.
Neumann (7-11, 3-0 CSAC) will continue CSAC action on Wednesday when it hosts Keystone. Action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
