FREDERICK, Md. – The Neumann University field hockey team picked up its first win of the season with a 4-1 victory at Hood College on Wednesday afternoon.
Lizzie Yu made five saves in net for her first collegiate win. The Knights doubled up the Blazers in shots 14-7.
Alexis Damask scored the first goal of the game in the 13
th minute, off a pass from
Dominique Patterson. Hood tied the game on a penalty stroke in the 30
th minute and the teams went into the break knotted at one.
With time winding down in the second half, the Knights exploded for three goals in two minutes.
Bri Lagroteria scored off a pass from
Aalyssa Moyer for a 2-1 lead in the 64
th minute. Lagroteria then tallied an assist as
Cheyenne Sovae-Beattie scored. To cap the scoring,
Erica D'Mello scored off a pass from
Colleen Hoy.
Neumann (1-5) will start four straight games at home and open conference action on Saturday with a game against Keystone. Action gets underway at 11:00 AM.
