WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the first match of the day, the Knights fell to host Gallaudet 3-1. Neumann won the first set 25-23. The teams battled in the second match, but the Bison won 27-25. Gallaudet clinched the match with 25-18 and 25-19 wins in sets three and four.
Rachael Hoffman led the Knights with 13 kills and three block solos.
Carlee Herrin handed out 37 assists.
Bianca Harbold tallied a match high 33 digs in the four sets.
Melanie Malseed tallied 16 and
Hayley Glah added 13.
The second match Neumann dropped a 3-1 result to Kean. Much like the first match, the Knights took a hard fought first set by a score of 26-24. Unfortunately, the match followed the same script as the first of the day, as Neumann fell in the next three sets to lose 3-1.
Shayne Sullivan led the way for Neumann in match two with 13 kills, while Herrin passed out a team high 33 assists. Harbold once again led the Knights with 24 digs, while Malseed added 14 of her own.
Neumann (7-14) will continue at the Worthington Classic tomorrow with a pair of matches. The Knights will face Nichols at 10:00 AM followed by Montclair State at 12:00 PM.
