ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up a 91-65 win over Centenary University in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action on Saturday afternoon.
Tyaire Hudson led the Knights with 20 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Billy Cassidy netted six three-pointers for 18 points.
Gemil Holbrook added 15 points.
Aaron Johnson-Chavis also tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.
The first part of the half had five lead changes and four tied scores. The largest lead was held by the Cyclones, 12-7, four minutes into the game. A layup by
Isaiah Wilmore with nine minutes left before halftime put the Knights up 23-22, a lead in which they would not relinquish. That basket started a 16-2 run for Neumann and it jumped out to a 37-24 lead with four minutes left on the clock. The Knights took a 44-28 lead into halftime.
Each team took some runs in the second half. The Cyclones chipped their way back to within 10 points midway through the half. Five minutes later, on a layup by Hudson, the Knights built their lead up to 20, 76-56. Neumann didn't let up over the final five minutes and came away with the 91-65 win.
Neumann (11-3, 6-2 CSAC) will head to Cabrini University on Wednesday for a CSAC doubleheader with the women. The men are slated to get underway at 8:00 PM.
