ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team hit the century mark with a 107-64 win over Clarks Summit University on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up.
Billy Cassidy and
Gemil Holbrook led six Knights in double-figures, each hitting five-three pointers and finishing with 17 points. The team finished with 13 baskets from downtown.
Tyaire Hudson,
Jordan Collins and
Aaron Johnson-Chavis each netted a dozen points. Johnson-Chavis added 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Raquan Brown-Johnson tallied 10 points while grabbing nine rebounds. All 11 players had at least two points and two rebounds. The Knights shot 57.0% from the floor for the game.
After trading the first four baskets of the game, the Knights went on a 14-0 run, capped by a dunk by
Isaiah Wilmore. The Defenders chipped their way back to within seven, 23-16, before Holbrook scored 11 straight points himself to take back control of the game. Holbrook capped the scoring in the first half with yet another three-pointer as Neumann took a 57-34 lead at the break.
The Knights continued to build their lead throughout the second half. A jumper by
Tyquan Hudson with 4:53 left in regulation put Neumann over the century mark.
Neumann (9-2, 4-1 CSAC) will head to Gwynedd Mercy University on Tuesday evening for a key conference match-up between two teams currently 4-1. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
