IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team picked up a 2-1 win to open Atlantic East Conference action at Immaculata University on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea Kulesza scored both goals for the Knights.
Mary Miller made her first start in net for the season and made 12 saves. The team picked up five defensive saves.
The Mighty Macs opened the scoring in the 54
th minute. After a penalty corner in the 62
nd minute, Kulesza tied the game off an assist from
Kayla Payne. In the 67
th minute, the Knights were awarded a penalty stroke and Kulesza capitalized for a 2-1 lead and they held on for the win.
Neumann (4-5, 1-0 Atlantic East) will head to Cabrini on Saturday for more conference action beginning at 12:00 PM.
