LANCASTER, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team blanked Lancaster Bible College 5-0 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.
Sam Picker scored twice for the Knights.
Erica D'Mello picked up a goal and an assist.
Mary Miller started the game in net to pick up the win.
D'Mello opened the scoring in the seventh minute as she took a rebound and put the ball in the back of the cage. Picker scored her first goal in the 16
th minute and then her second goal four minute later for a 3-0 lead.
Kelly Rodgers assisted on Picker's second goal off of a penalty corner.
Neumann scored two more goals in just over a minute in the second half.
Colleen Hoy deflected a pass from D'Mello in the 42
nd minute.
Chelsea Kulesza capped the scoring in the 43
rd minute.
The Knights defense squashed any offensive chances by the Chargers and outshot LBC 35-0 overall and 16-0 on net. Picker led the team with 14 shots overall and six on net. Kulesza tallied eight shots, six on net as well.
Neumann (6-5) will get back to Atlantic East action on Saturday when it travels to Marywood. The game is slated to get underway at 12:00 PM.
