Knights Pick up Come-from-Behind Overtime Win

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team came-from-behind and defeated Lebanon Valley College 87-80 in overtime in the first day of the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
Raquan Brown-Johnson led four Knights in double-figures with 20 points. Waheem Lowman and Aaron Johnson-Chavis each added 17 points. Johnson-Chavis notched five blocks. Jordan Collins added 16 points.
 
A three-pointer by Lowman in overtime gave the Knights the lead for good. The teams went into the extra session knotted at 76. Locked at 80, and after almost two minutes of a scoring drought, Lowman hit the shot from downtown with 1:44 on the clock. Two free throws by Dewey Johnson and two by Collins in the final 10 seconds sealed the win for the Knights.
 
Neumann scored the first point of the game. Lebanon Valley answered with a layup and built up its lead to 12, 24-12, with eight minutes left in the first half. The Knights then went on a 7-1 run to cut the lead to four, 25-21. Tymir Cooper hit two free throws to end the half, but the Dutchmen took a 35-29 lead into the break.
 
Lebanon Valley came out strong to start the second half and took its biggest lead, 52-35, with 16:19 left on the clock. Neumann chipped its way back to within 11, 67-58, with just over nine minutes remaining when it made it move. Over the next five minutes, the Knights went on a 13-5 run for a 72-71 score. A free throw by Johnson-Chavis tied the game at 74 with 2:55 left in regulation. A basket by Lowman, two free throws by the Dutchmen and a scoreless final minute and a half of regulation forced overtime.
 
Neumann (2-0) will face host Penn State Harrisburg tomorrow afternoon in the Championship game. The Lions defeated Gettysburg 86-71. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 PM.
