HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season 67-59 to Penn State Harrisburg in the championship game of the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament on Sunday afternoon.
Waheem Lowman and
Jordan Collins led the Knights with 16 points each and were named to the All-Tournament team.
Aaron Johnson-Chavis added 11 points and four blocks.
Sanoussi Abdourhamane tallied 10 blocks.
The Lions started off hot, scoring 15 of the first 17 points over the first five minutes. The Knights took over during the rest of the half and outscored the Lions 23-5 to take a 25-20 lead into halftime.
The Knights took a lead as large as seven two times in the second half, 39-32 and 41-34. The Lions came back with a 12-2 run to take a 49-43 lead with eight minutes left in the half. Neumann came back to within three, 51-48, but the Lions took control back and built a 10 point lead, 60-50, with two minutes on the clock and took the game 67-59.
Neumann (2-1) will return home on Wednesday to host Rowan. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
