ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell late to Stevenson University on senior night on Saturday afternoon in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action.
Before the game, the Knights honored their four seniors:
Kate Blad,
Zoe Harkins,
Bek Lucas and
Julia Fair.
Stevenson scored the only goal of the first period at the 11:11 mark. The second period was filled with penalties, but neither team found the back of the net and the game went into the third period with the 1-0 score.
Jackie Schneider scored 5:51 into the third period to tie the game at one off a pass from
Katelyn Brown. The Mustangs took advantage of a power play and took back the lead at the 12:39 mark. The Knights outshot the Mustangs 15-10 in the third as they tried to net the equalizer, but Stevenson added an empty net goal with 13 seconds left to seal the win.
Fair made 37 saves in net.
Neumann (12-8-2, 9-4-1 UCHC) will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a pair of games at Elmira. Friday's face-off is slated for 7:00 PM followed by a 3:00 puck drop on Saturday.
