ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team, the No. 3 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) postseason, will head to No. 2 seeded Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday evening for semifinal match-up.
The Knights advanced to the semifinals with a 99-98 overtime win against Rosemont on Monday. CSAC Player of the Year
Nafisa Saunders hit the game-winner with three seconds left in overtime.
Minika Glenn netted 37 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
Kristen Denoncour added 21 points and 16 rebounds. Saunders finished with 20 points.
The Knights and the Griffins met once during the regular season at the Mirenda Center. Gwynedd Mercy came away with an 83-63 win.
Saunders led all players with 20 points.
Denoncour added 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
Mariah Maciejewski netted 10 points and three blocks.
For the season, the Knights are being led by Saunders, who is averaging 18.6 points per game. Glenn adds 13.7 while Legler nets 10.0. Legler leads the team in three-pointers, making 42 this season.
In the other first round contest, No. 4 Marywood defeated No. 5 Centenary 81-69. Marywood will face No. 1 Cabrini in the other semifinal game. The winners of the semifinal games will play for the 2018 CSAC Championship at the highest remaining seed on Saturday.
