AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team continued its great start to the season with a 10-3 win over Concordia College (Minn.) on Tuesday.
The Knights had 11 hits in the game, led by
Dan Padilla,
Andrew La Rosa and
Zach Ray each with two.
Cody MacNair,
John Schoelkopf and La Rosa each plated a pair of runs.
Eric Jester knocked in a pair.
Neumann scored in the top of the first as
Duncan Balara knocked in Schoelkopf. Concordia answered with three runs in the bottom of the first. The Knights got an unearned run back in the third inning.
In the fourth inning, the Knights plated two runs as Jesper knocked in La Rosa with a double and came around to score on a single by Schoelkopf. Neumann scored two more runs in the seventh to extend its lead to 6-3. For good measure, the Knights added four insurance runs in the eighth inning.
Matt Kelty went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on nine hits.
Phil Sanborn went 2.2 innings.
Isaiah Morales pitched the ninth inning.
Neumann (4-0) will face Lyndon State tomorrow beginning at 1:00 PM.
