AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team used a six run sixth inning to defeat Lyndon State College 8-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Duncan Balara knocked in three runs for the Knights.
Dan Padilla and
Zach Ray hit had two RBI. Neumann had 12 hits in the game with four players with a pair.
James Angellella started the game and went 5.1 innings. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out five.
Kutter Endy picked up the win, finishing the top of the sixth inning.
Lyndon opened the scoring in the first inning. Neither team would score again until Neumann plated six runs in the sixth.
The first four Knights reached base to start the inning. Balara knocked in the first two runs on a single. With one out, Padilla hit a two-run triple. Ray hit a two-run double to cap the scoring in the inning.
Each team scored a run in the seventh inning. Neumann added an insurance run in the eighth inning as Padilla led the eighth off with a double.
