AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped its first contest of the season, 13-6, to the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Thursday morning.
John Schoelkopf had three hits to lead the Knights.
Cody MacNair and
Colin Pollard each had a pair of hits.
Colin Perro started the game on the mound. He went 2.0 innings, allowing five runs on four hits.
Tyler Brown and
David Alvarez pitched part of the third inning.
Phil Sanborn went 3.0 innings and allowed three hits.
Taylor Reynolds pitched the final four innings.
Dan Padilla hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning to put Neumann on the board. MSOE hit two long balls in the top of the second inning, a solo shot and a three-run homerun, to take a 5-2 lead.
The Knights tied the game at five with three runs in the bottom of the second. With one out,
Eric Jester singled and came around to score on a triple by Pollard. Pollard scored on a single by Schoelkopf.
Matt McLaughlin walked and scored on a rundown.
The Raiders took control of the game as they scored six runs in the top of the third. The Knights scored their final run of the game after MacNair doubled and scored on a double by
Zach Ray.
Neumann (5-1) is right back on the field tomorrow when it will face Martin Luther College. First Pitch is slated for 12:30 PM.
