ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up a 98-77 win at Rosemont College on Wednesday evening in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) matchup.
Five Knights scored in double-figures in the win, led by
Isaiah Wilmore and
Aaron Johnson-Chavis, who each netted 20 points.
Billy Cassidy netted 19 points, including five baskets from beyond the arc.
Tyaire Hudson scored 15 points and
Jordan Collins added 12. Neumann shot 60.3% from the floor and went 16-for-18 (88.9%) from the free throw line. The Knights also connected on 12 baskets from downtown.
The first few minutes of the game went back and forth. With Rosemont leading 13-9, a three-pointer by Wilmore started a 13-2 run for Neumann as it took a 22-15 advantage. A three-pointer by Cassidy put the Knights up by double-digits, 28-18, with 11:14 on the clock. The Knights continued their run and built a 15 point lead, 33-18. Heading into halftime, Neumann took a 57-40 advantage.
Each team had runs in the second half. Neumann started and built a 32 point advantage, 78-46, with 11:46 on the clock. Over the next seven minutes, Rosemont chipped its way back to with 18, 88-70. The teams traded baskets down the stretch, including a bunch of free throws, and the Knights came away with the 98-77 win.
Neumann (17-5, 12-3 CSAC) will head to Centenary on Saturday to continue CSAC action. The tip-off is slated for 3:00 PM.
