REISTERSTOWN, Md. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell 7-3 at Stevenson University on Friday afternoon in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) match-up.
Bek Lucas had a goal and an assist for the Knights.
Julia Fair made 49 saves in net.
The Mustangs scored the only two goals of the first period, coming 30 seconds apart in the seventh minute.
The Knights were able to cut the lead in half as Lucas scored 2:20 into the second period off a pass from
Jackie Schneider. Stevenson answered and built its lead up to 5-1 after two periods.
Stevenson netted a shorthanded goal quickly in the third period.
Zoe Harkins tallied a power play goal 16 seconds later.
Mollie Johnson and
Steph Grundy notched the assists. With the Mustangs leading 7-2,
Katelyn Brown wrapped up the scoring on the power play with five minutes left in regulation off a pass from Lucas.
Neumann (12-7-2, 9-3-1 UCHC) and Stevenson (11-7-4, 8-3-2) will meet again tomorrow, this time on home ice for the Knights. Face-off is slated for 4:00 PM as Neumann celebrated senior day at Ice Works.
