ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team was shutout by Salisbury University 7-0 on Monday afternoon in the home opener.
The Seagulls opened the game by capitalizing on an error and scoring five unearned runs in the top of the first inning. Salisbury added two more runs in the fifth inning for its seven runs.
James Angellella started the game and allowed the five unearned runs in the first inning on three hits.
Taylor Reynolds came out of the bullpen and went 6.2 innings, allowing two runs on six hits.
Nick Henry pitched the final 1.1 innings and did not allow a hit.
The Knights were held hitless until the fifth inning when
Joey Pedorenko hit a double.
Andrew Fowler and
Jake Urena each added a hit from the nine-hole.
Neumann (8-7) is schedule to head to Rowan on Wednesday for a non-conference game beginning at 3:30 PM.
