Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Conrad Reaches 50 Goals on the Season as Knights Cruise to Fourth Straight Win

LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team kept its winning ways going on Wednesday afternoon with a dominating 19-7 victory over Keystone College in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

Kaitlyn Conrad continued her excellent season, picking up her 50th goal of the year with nine goals and three assists in the win. Brittany Cassidy also picked up five points (3 g, 2 a) on the day, while Calie Swegon picked up a team high 11 draw controls to go along with a goal and an assist. Gabby Curry was strong in net, making nine saves to pick up her sixth win of the season.

In a rematch of last season's CSAC first round matchup, the Knights wasted little time jumping all over the Giants. The two teams each scored in the game's first three minutes to make it 1-1, but Neumann took over after that. Using four goals from Conrad, the Knights reeled off eight unanswered tallies in the next ten minutes of play to take a commanding 9-1 lead with 17:00 minutes left in the opening half. Keystone stopped the bleeding with a goal at the 16:18 mark to make it 9-2, but two Neumann goals late in the half from Swegon and Cassidy sent the game to halftime with the Knights up 11-2.

Keystone attempted to get back into the game early in the second stanza with three of the first four goals in the half, but Conrad killed off any hope of a comeback with a four straight goals in a span of two minutes midway through the frame to make it 16-5 with 15:22 left to play. The junior attacker then capped off her stellar day late in the game, scoring her ninth goal of the day and 50th of the season with 4:38 remaining to seal the 19-7 win for the Knights.

Neumann (6-4, 3-0 CSAC) gets right back in action tomorrow when it heads to Rutgers-Camden for a non-conference matchup. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
