ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team fell to Rutgers University – Camden 16-7 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Scarlet Raptors scored at least one run in seven of the nine innings, including two in the first and three in the second for an early 5-0 lead.
The Knights got three runs back in the bottom of the third inning.
Curt Yenchik led off with a solo homerun.
Zach Ray and
Matt McLaughlin drew walks.
Andrew La Rosa hit an RBI single and
Cody MacNair hit an RBI double. La Rosa knocked in
Andrew Fowler in the fourth inning for Neumann's fourth run.
In the eighth inning, the Knights took advantage of some Scarlet Raptors errors and scored three unearned runs.
Taylor Reynolds started the game on the mound and went one-plus innings. He was one of six pitchers used in the game.
Neumann (15-15) is back into conference action this weekend as it heads to Keystone for a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 12:00 PM.
