WINCHESTER, Va. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a pair of games to No. 22 Shenandoah University on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. Game scores were 3-2 and 11-0.
In the first game, the Knights got on the board with a run in the first inning.
Andrew La Rosa single and came around to score on a single by
Joey Pedorenko. The Hornets tied the game in the bottom of the second.
Neumann took back the lead in the fifth inning as
Matt McLaughlin led off the inning with a double and scored on a single by
John Schoelkopf. Shenandoah took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double.
The Knights had base runners in the top of the seventh as they attempted to tie the score or retake the lead, but they could not get the key hit.
Jared Morris started the game and went 3.2 innings in the no decision. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out four.
Taylor Reynolds took the loss, going 1.2 innings. He allowed two runs on one hit.
Kutter Endy finished the sixth inning for the Knights.
In the second game, the Hornets scored five runs over the first two innings. The added six runs in the fourth inning for their runs.
Matt Kelty started the game and went two innings. He allowed five runs, four earned, on four hits.
James Angellella went 1.1 innings and allowed four runs on four hits.

David Alvarez and
Colin Perro finished the game out of the bullpen.
Neumann (11-13) gets back into conference action with a single game against Cabrini on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 3:00 PM at Bruder Field.
