ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team fell to Cairn University 7-3 on Wednesday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) match-up.
 
After the game, the Knights honored its seniors: Taylor Reynolds, Cody MacNair, Joey Pedorenko, Kutter Endy, Dave Clay and graduate student Joey Gorman.
 
The Highlanders scored all seven of their runs in the second inning as they sent eight batters to the plate.  Cairn hit a grand slam in the inning.
 
The Knights scored two runs in the third inning. Matt McLaughlin walked and John Schoelkopf was hit by a pitch for two runners on base with no outs. McLaughlin scored on a single by Pedorenko. Schoelkopf scored on a fielder's choice by Curt Yenchik.
 
Yenchik doubled in the eighth inning and scored on a single by Dan Padilla for Neumann's third run of the game.
 
Gorman started the game in the mound and went the first 1.1 innings. He allowed six runs, five earned, on three hits. Grant Wallace pitched the next 3.2 innings and allowed one run one two hits and struck out four. Endy went 2.0 innings while Josh Cruz and Matt Kelty each went 1.0.
 
Neumann (19-19, 10-4 CSAC) will wrap up the regular season on Friday with a doubleheader at Gwynedd Mercy. First pitch is slated for 1:00 PM.
