CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 non-conference matchup on the road at Widener University on Wednesday evening.
Lizzie Yu made six saves in goal in the loss for the Knights.
Looking for its third consecutive win, Neumann hoped to take the play to Widener early on. The Pride would control play throughout much of the game though, out-shooting the Knights by a count of 5-1 in the opening half of play to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The visitors tried to get back into the game in the second half, but the Pride would continue to build their lead. Using three second-half goals, the hosts cruised to a 4-0 non-conference victory. Shots for the game would finish 15-2 in favor of Widener.
Neumann (2-2) has a day to recover before returning home to face-off against non-conference foe William Patterson University on Friday evening. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
