ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team fell to St. Mary's College of Maryland, 2-1, in a non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks scored the only goal of the first half to a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Knights tied the game at one in the 45
th minute as
Colleen Hoy tipped in a shot from
Sam Picker. As time was winding down, the Seahawks broke the tie. With less than three minutes left to play, St. Mary's was able find the back of cage off a scramble in front of the net.
Lizzie Yu was busy in net, making 15 saves.
Neumann (3-5) will open Atlantic East Conference action on Wednesday when it travels to Immaculata. The game is slated to get underway at 6:30 PM.
