SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell late, 77-66, at Marywood University on Wednesday evening in Atlantic East Conference action.
Mark Perry led the Knights with a double-double, 22 points and 12 rebounds.
Isaiah Wilmore added 15 points off the bench.
The first half remained close. The Pacers built the largest lead of the half, 31-23, with 3:27 left before halftime. The Knights ended the half on a 7-2 for a 33-30 Marywood lead at the half.
The second half was much like the first half. With 4:01 left in regulation, Perry tied the game at 59. The Pacers answered with a three-pointer on the next possession to start an 11-3 run for a 70-62 score with 1:50 remaining on the clock. Free throws were the story over the final two minutes and a Marywood three pointer in the final 20 seconds sealed the 77-66 win.
Neumann (9-8, 0-4 Atlantic East) will host Cabrini on Saturday as part of an Atlantic East doubleheader with the women. The men are slated to tip-off at 3:00 PM.
