IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell late at Immaculata University on Saturday afternoon, 62-60, in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
 
Raquan Brown-Johnson led the Knights with 29 points. Nasir Cassel netted 13 points off the bench.
 
The Mighty Macs held the pace of the game in the first half. Their biggest lead of the half came with 4:55 on the clock and a 30-17 score. The Knights ended the half with a 10-3 run to pull within seven, 34-27, at the break.
 
The Knights continued to chip their way back into the game and with 12:17 left in regulation a three-pointer by Brown-Johnson tied the game at 40. The rest of regulation featured six lead changes and three tied scores.
 
With the game knotted at 48, Neumann went on a 9-0 run. Immaculata answered with an 11-0 run to take back the lead, 59-57, with 2:22 on the clock. Brown-Johnson hit another three-pointer with 42 seconds remaining for a 60-59 edge. The Mighty Macs answered back with a three-pointer with 25 ticks left to take back the lead.
 
After a missed shot by the Knights, the Mighty Macs went to the line, but could not make their free-throw, and Cassel grabbed the rebound. Neumann had one final look, but could not make the ball fall and Immaculata held on for the win.
 
Neumann (9-6, 0-2 Atlantic East) will return home on Wednesday for more Atlantic East action as it will host Gwynedd Mercy. The men will tip-off following the women at 8:00 PM.
