ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team edged Lancaster Bible College 3-2 on a windy, misty Wednesday evening.
Bri Lagroteria scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute off an assist from
Sam Picker. Lagroteria netted her second goal of the contest in the 22nd minute, off a pass from
Anissa Fleming, for a 2-0 Knights lead.
The Chargers answered just over a minute later to cut the lead in half. Lancaster Bible tied the game just before halftime and the teams went into the break knotted at two.
In the 40
th minute, Picker tallied the eventual game-winner. The Knights held the Chargers off the board for over the final 20 minutes for the 3-2 win.
Each team notched 12 shots overall and seven on net.
Lizzie Yu started the game in net and made one save.
Meg Frame picked up the win and made four saves in net over the second half.
Neumann (5-9) will get back into conference action on Saturday when it hosts Immaculata. The Knights will honor their seniors prior to the contest that is slated to begin at 1:00 PM.
