ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team celebrated senior night with a 3-0 sweep of Gwynedd Mercy University in an Atlantic East Conference match-up on Tuesday evening.
Prior to the match, the Knights recognized their five seniors:
Melanie Malseed,
Hayley Glah,
Carlee Herrin,
Rachel Cray and
Alex Koppany.
Malseed continued to lead the Knights, tallying 15 kills and 15 digs.
Ariana Pena added 12 kills. Cray dished out 33 assists while adding 17 digs. Glah notched 10 digs.
The Knights took early leads in the first two sets and cruised to the 25-9 wins in both. Cray notched a service aces for the 1-0 lead.
Bre Hickey tallied a kill for the 2-0 lead.
The Griffins weren't going quietly in the third set and worked up to a 12-9 lead. The Knights chipped their way back and took an 18-15 advantage. Fittingly, a kill by Malseed sealed the 25-20 set win and the 3-0 match win for Neumann.
Neumann (14-10, 4-1 Atlantic East) will head to Misericordia on Thursday evening for a non-conference match-up beginning at 7:00 PM.
