ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team fell in the Atlantic East Championship game 3-0 to Marymount University on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-16, 25-14 and 25-21.
Melanie Malseed led the Knights with 10 kills.
Hayley Glah tallied 14 digs.
Rachel Cray handed out 30 assists.
The Saints held an early lead, taking a 10-3 advantage to start the match. Marymount took set one 25-16. Again, the Saints started set two strong, taking a 6-0 lead and a 25-14 second set win.
The third set went back and forth. The Knights took a 19-16 lead before the Saints charged back for a 21-19 advantage. Marymount kept the pressure on and took the final set 25-21 and match 3-0 for the 2019 Atlantic East Championship.
Neumann (18-12) will now wait for the ECAC Tournament announcement on Monday to see if its season will continue.
