WINCHESTER, Va. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a doubleheader at No. 25 Shenandoah University on Sunday afternoon. Game scores were 13-6 and 10-3.
In the first game,
John Schoelkopf notched three hits for the Knights.
Curt Yenchik hit a solo homerun.
Nick Glebocki started the game and went the first two innings in the loss.
Will Hart came in and pitched four innings.
David Alvarez and
Nick Henry wrapped up the pitching.
The Hornets jumped out early and six runs in the first inning and three in the second. The Knights plated a run in the second, two in the sixth and one each in the final three innings.
In game two, Neumann scored a run in each of the first two innings. Shenandoah answered with two in the first, one in the second and two more in the third. The Hornets broke open the game with four runs in the fourth inning and then added one more in the fifth inning.
Josh Cruz started the game and went 3.1 innings.
Jared Morris, Henry and
Brennan Hatala also pitched in the game.
Neumann (2-3) will now head south for its annual spring break trip. The Knights will face Alma on Tuesday. First pitch is slated for 1:00 PM.
