ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team edged Penn State Abington 8-7 in a back and forth game on Wednesday afternoon.
Will Hart started the game and went 5.0 innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits.
David Alvarez started the sixth and faced two batters.
Phil Sanborn went 1.1 innings and allowed two runs, one earned on four hits.
Jared Morris picked up the win in relief, going the final 2.2 innings and allowed just one hit.
The Lions scored first with a two-run homerun in the top of the second inning. The Knights got one run back in the second has

Penn State Abington took back its two-run lead with back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning.
To start the home half of the fourth, Neumann had a batter hit by a pitched, followed by two walks to load the bases without a hit.
John Lindeborn then singled to knock in two runs to tie the game at three .
Zach Ray and had an RBI ground out to score Schoelkopf and Lindeborn scored on a passed ball for a 5-3 lead after four full innings.
The Lions tied the game at five with two runs in the sixth inning. Penn State Abington then took a 7-5 advantage in the top of the seventh inning.
The Knights made some productive outs in the bottom of the seventh inning and knotted the game at seven with an RBI ground out by
Joe Nepi and an RBI fielder's choice by
Tre'Zhan Selby.
With one out in the eighth inning, Ray singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He came around to score on a single by
Curt Yenchik.
The Lions had a single in the ninth inning, but Morris shut the door and the Knights came away with the one-run win. The win avenges the one-run loss Neumann had against Penn State Abington down in Florida earlier this month.
Neumann (6-8) looks to open Atlantic East action on Saturday as it hosts Marymount. The conference doubleheader is slated to begin at 12:00 PM.
