ASTON, Pa. - Looking for its third straight win, the Neumann University women's lacrosse team came up short on Wednesday afternoon, falling by a score of 20-4 to visiting Rowan University in non-conference action.

Kaitlyn Conrad tallied twice for the Knights in the loss, while Brittany Cassidy and Reilly Fiedler also scored. Catriona Corrigan and Sara Ropski split time in net, combining for 11 saves on the day.

The Knights kept the game close early, matching Rowan's intensity with solid play of their own. The Profs opened the scoring just over a minute into play, but Cassidy answered right back for Neumann to level the contest at 1-1. The visitors responded back with a pair of goals to take 3-1 lead at the 26:12 mark, but again Neumann had a reply, as Conrad scored to make it 3-2. Unfortunately for the Knights though, Rowan began to pull away from there. Using an 11-0 run to end the half, the Profs took full control of the game and led by a score of 14-2 at halftime.

The visitors kept their foot on the gas to start the second stanza, controlling the clock and adding five more goals to their total to make it 19-2 with 18:39 left to play. Conrad and Fiedler scored back to back goals late in the contest to get the game back to 19-4, but a Rowan marker with 2:20 remaining put the finishing touch on the 20-4 non-conference result.

Neumann (6-4) will look to regroup before it returns to the field next Monday, April 1st versus Rutgers Camden. The home contest is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
