ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team picked up its first home and Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) with a 3-0 win over Immaculata on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-20, 25-16 and 25-14.
Ryan Bollinger led the Knights with 10 kills.
Jules Maiorano tallied 26 assists and 11 digs.
Zack Strickland and nine kills and eight digs.
The Knights took an early 5-1 lead in the first set and held a small lead throughout. The Mighty Macs stayed close, but Neumann came away with the 25-20 win.
The teams battled during the second set. The Knights took a 13-11 lead and with four straight kills started a 9-1 run to take a 22-12 advantage. A kill by
Khash Eshaghi sealed the 25-16 second set win.
In the third set used seven straight points to take a 12-4 lead. Later on in the set, the Knights again scored seven straight points for a 24-9 lead. Eshaghi tallied the match winning kill.
Neumann (3-18, 1-10 CVC) will wrap up the regular season next weekend. The Knights will travel to New Jersey City University for a tri-match with Sage Colleges. Action gets underway at 11:00 AM.
