RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team picked up its first Atlantic East Conference win on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Cabrini University 5-4.
In doubles action, the duo of
Sam Dicarlo and
Ashley Francis won third doubles 8-4 for Neumann's first point of the afternoon.
Mia Cimino and
Maddy Varney battled at first doubles, but fell 8-4.
As the match moved to singles action, the Knights took four of the six matches for the win. Cimino won first singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
Egypt Bell took third singles 6-4, 6-4.
Olivia Warren took the battle at fourth singles, 7-5, 7-5. Too wrap up the match, Dicarlo took three sets, but won sixth singles and the Knights took the match. After dropping the first set 6-4, Dicarlo came back to win 6-0, 6-1.
Neumann (1-9, 1-2 Atlantic East) will wrap up the regular season next Saturday when it hosts Marywood. The conference action gets underway at 1:00 PM.
