ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team suffered a setback on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon, falling by a score of 9-0 to Marywood University in the team's final regular season match.
The Pacers controlled the match from start to finish, taking home wins at all three doubles matches.
Egypt Bell and
Olivia Warren fought hard at second doubles, but fell by a score of 8-4.
Marywood kept its foot on the pedal as the match moved to singles play. The visitors won all six matches to cruise to the 9-0 win. Bell was again the closest to victory for the Knights in singles, falling by a score of 7-5, 6-1 at third singles.
Neumann (1-9, 1-3 Atlantic East) will look to regroup for the Atlantic East Conference playoffs starting next Friday, May 3
rd. The fourth-seeded Knights will take on top seeded Immaculata University at 12:00 PM.
