IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University baseball team doubled up Immaculata University 8-4 on a windy Wednesday afternoon in an Atlantic East Conference contest.
Andrew La Rosa tallied four hits for the Knights.
Joe Nepi knocked in three runs.
Will Hart got his first collegiate win, going 6.0 innings. He allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out four.
Jared Morris picked up a three inning save. He allowed one run on three hits and struck out two.
John Lindeborn led off the game with a single and came around to score on a ground out by
Danny Padilla. The Mighty Macs tied the game at one in the bottom of the first inning.
In the second inning, Nepi hit a two-double to score
Tyler Ramos and
Donnie Weaver and give the Knights a 3-1 lead. Neumann added two more runs in the third for a 5-1 advantage. Immaculata answered with two runs in the bottom of the third for a 5-3 score.
Lindeborn scored his second run of the game after he walked in the sixth and came around to score on an RBI single by La Rosa. In the seventh, Ramos led off with a walk and then scored on a triple by
Zach Ray. Ray scored on a sacrifice fly by Nepi for an 8-3 lead.
Immaculata scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Morris shut the door and the Knights came away with the 8-4 win.
Neumann (10-11, 2-1 Atlantic East) stays in conference action and will travel to Cabrini on Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitched is slated for 1:00 PM.
