WAYNE, N.J. - The Neumann University Field Hockey team suffered a road non-conference setback on Friday evening, falling by a score of 4-0 to host William Paterson University.
Lizzie Yu was excellent in goal in the loss, stopping nine shots in goal.
William Paterson took the play to the Knights in the opening quarter but despite a 15-1 edge in shots the score remained 0-0 thanks to excellent play from Yu in goal.
Despite a much closer second quarter, the Pioneers would finally break through, scoring two goals to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
William Paterson kept its foot on the pedal as the second half began, doubling its lead in the frame to take a 4-0 lead. The advantage was more than enough on the evening for the hosts, who cruised the rest of the way in the comfortable win.
