ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team fell short for Franklin and Marshall College 3-0 on Wednesday evening in the home opener.
The Knights battled in the first set, but came up just short 26-24. The Diplomats took sets two and three 25-18 and 25-16 to win the match.
Melanie Malseed led the Knights with nine kills, one error, and a hitting percentage of .235.
Ariana Pena tallied eight kills, two errors, and a .353 hitting percentage.
Rachel Cray handed out 13 assists.
Bre Hickey notched 18 digs, while Malseed tallied 13 and Cray added 10.
Neumann (0-5) will head to the Haverford Invitational this weekend. The Knights will open against host Haverford on Friday evening.
