HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the first day of the Ford Invitational on Friday evening.
In the first match against host Haverford,
Melanie Malseed tallied 10 kills and 12 digs.
Rachel Cray handed out 22 assists.
Hayley Glah added 13 digs. The Fords won the sets 25-16, 25-19 and 25-14.
In the second match of the evening, the Knights picked up their first win of the season with a 3-0 win over Hunter College. Neumann took the match in straight set scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-20.
Malseed tallied 12 kills and a .435 hitting percentage in the win. The senior added 15 digs.
Bre Hickey added nine kills and
Ariana Pena notched eight. Cray dished out 33 assists. Glah had 13 digs in the match.
Neumann (1-6) will head back to Haverford tomorrow and will face St. Mary's College of Md. Beginning at 12:00 PM.
