Knights Fall in Five to Seahawks

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball battled in its last match of the Ford Invitational, but fell to St. Mary's College of Maryland 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Melanie Malseed was named to the All-Tournament team. The senior tallies 13 kills and 23 digs in the match. Ariana Pena tallied 13 kills and four solo blocks. Bre Hickey added 10 kills. Rachel Cray handed out 38 assists and 16 digs. Hayley Glah notched 25 digs and four service aces over the five sets.
 
The Knights won the first set 28-26. The Seahawks answered with 25-20 and 25-19 wins in sets two and three. Neumann forced a fifth set with a 25-23 win in set four. In the deciding set, St. Mary's won 17-15.
 
Neumann (1-7) will return home on Tuesday when it still host Ursinus beginning at 7:00 PM.
