IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team dropped a tightly contested contest to Immaculata University 3-1 on Friday evening in a Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) match.
Ryan Bollinger notched 20 kills in the match.
Thomas McConnell added nine while
Conner Kolek tallied eight.
Jules Maiorano handed out 40 assists and 22 digs.
Kyle Slinkman and Kolek each added a dozen digs.
Nick Shortlidge and McConnell each had 11.
The Mighty Macs won all three of their sets by 27-25 scores. The Knights took leads in all three as well but could not close out the sets.
The Knights won the second set by a score of 25-16. Midway through the set, Neumann took a 10-8 lead and built a 15-8 lead. Maiorano sealed the set win with a kill.
In the fourth set, the Knights built a 23-18 advantage. The Mighty Macs pulled to within two, 23-21, when a kill by
Eric Van Horn put Neumann at set point. However, Immaculata scored three straight points to pull even at 24. The Knights got the 25
th point but could not get the set point and the Mighty Macs scored three straight for the 27-25 win.
Neumann (3-7, 0-2 CVC) will head to Alvernia for a pair of contests tomorrow. The Knights will face the host at 10:00 AM followed by D'Youville at 2:00 PM.
