ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team fell to Widener University 3-0 on Wednesday evening in a non-conference match-up.
 
John Hoopes tallied four kills for the Knights. Jules Maiorano handed out 15 assists. Ryan Bollinger notched 17 digs while Conner Kolek added 11.
 
The first two sets went extra points before the Pride picked up the wins. Widener took a 9-5 lead in the first set. Neumann chipped its way back into the set and scored six straight points to take a 21-17 lead.   The Pride then scored six of the next seven for a 23-22 edge. The teams then traded points before Widener took two straight points for the 28-26 first set win.
 
Set two went back and forth and the Knights pulled out to a 24-23 lead. The Pride answered with three straight points to take the second set 26-24. Set three was similar, but Widener didn't need extra points this time and took the set 25-20 for the 3-0 match win.
 
Neumann (3-11) will head to King's on Saturday for a tri-match. The Knights will face the host at 2:00 PM, followed by New Jersey City at 4:00 PM.
