Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LEESBURG, Fla. – The Neumann University softball team wrapped up its spring break trip splitting a pair of games on Friday. The Knights fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 8-2 and rebounded to defeat Olivet College 5-3.
 
Jackie Selby had three hits in the first game. Jennifer Sieminski pitched 6.0 innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits and striking out nine.
 
RPI opened the scoring in the first inning. The Knights took a 2-1 lead in the third. Bri Lagroteria led off with a single and scored on a double by Selby. Selby then scored on a single by Kate Korte'.
 
The Engineers tied the game at two in the fourth and then scored six runs in the fifth inning.
 
Against Olivet, Nicole Wisser went the distance in the circle for the win. She allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out nine.
 
The Comets scored first in the third inning. The Knights took advantage of some walks in the home half of the third and scored five runs. Lagroteria and Wisser hit back-to-back two-run knocks in the inning.
 
Olivet scored two more runs in the sixth inning, but Wisser struck out two batter with two runners on to hold the lead and come away with the win.
 
Neumann (5-5) will open its home schedule on Wednesday when it hosts Messiah College for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
