MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team went 1-1 in at tri-match with St. Joseph's College – LI and Montclair State University on Saturday afternoon. The Knights defeated the Eagles 3-0 before falling to the host Red Hawks 3-0.
The Knights defeated the Eagles in straight sets 25-12, 25-20 and 25-10.
Regan Hickey led Neumann with eight kills.
Ariana Pena added seven kills.
Dani Smith handed out 17 assists.
Bre Hickey notched six service aces.
Neumann finished off the first set with four straight kills. The second set went back and forth a little more. A kill by
Lauren Garvey sealed the set two win and the 2-0 lead. B. Hickey tallied four of her six service aces to seal the third set win and the 3-0 match win.
Against the Red Hawks, Pena had six kills and a .714 hitting percentage. Smith dished out 12 assists. B. Hickey 10 digs.
Neumann (8-11) started Atlantic East action on Tuesday when it heads to Centenary. The match is slated to begin at 7:00 PM.
