GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team battled at Gwynedd Mercy University on Wednesday evening, falling 2-0 in the Atlantic East Conference game.
Megan Frame was outstanding in game, stopping a stroke in the fourth quarter and making several stellar saves on the goal line and at the posts. The junior finished with five saves in the game.
Lexi Stouffer made her presence known over the entire field, making defensive plays, transitioning the ball forward and playing strong corner defense.
Elle Smith shined as the center-midfielder as she forced Gwynedd's offense to play the ball wide, keeping the attacks up the middle to a minimum.
Gwynedd Mercy scored its two goals in the second quarter.
Neumann (2-12, 0-4 Atlantic East) will host Concordia (Wisc.) on Friday afternoon. The non-conference action will get underway at 4:00 PM.
