HARRISVILLE, R.I. - The Neumann University women's ice hockey team fell for the second consecutive day on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 result at the hands of Nichols College.
 
Alexa Lamplugh and Michelle Winand-Bacon split time in goal in the loss, combining for 38 saves. Georgi Rowland and Sid Squires led the team with three shots.
 
Neumann was eager to find the win column on Saturday after dropping its season opener on Friday night, but Nichols had other ideas. The Bisons blitzed the Knights for six first period goals, creating a mountain of a lead that the visitors could never recover from.
 
The Knights played a much better second period and held Nichols off the scoreboard in the middle 20 minutes, but Neumann could not find the net either as the game remained 6-0 after two. The Bisons pressed forward again to start the final frame, tacking on three more tallies to seal a comfortable 9-0 victory,
 
Neumann (0-2) will have a week to recover before opening United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action next Friday, November 5th when the team travels to Wilkes University. Puck-drop is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
